Pillow Box - Just Because

To stick with our Valentine's theme in this months class I decide to do another pillow box matching the second card we made this month. "Just Because".

I used the same paper collection, black Close to My Heart cardstock for the box base a piece of design paper, some paper stars, a tag and some silver ribbon.

The tag was adhere with some foam squares and edges with grey ink.

I love this little box. Now you have a wonderful card along with a little gift yo give. I am sure you have someone awesome to give this too.

Remember, you can join me for the fun. No matter if you never have crafted before, but would like to give it a try or if you are a pro....contact me and check out the monthly classes. I am sure we find the right one for you....Looking forward to meeting you soon.

Sewing made easy - It's the little things

Sewing on your card, yes you are reading correctly. When I put the projects for the January classes together I thought, maybe we should to a little different Valentine's card.

We made a traditional one and then I found some paper in my stock that was left from a S.E.I. project that I did a few years ago. The perfect paper to create a more masculine card and one that could be used for other occasions than Valentine's day.

The background of this card is black. Centered on it is a piece of "juniper" cardstock from Close to My Heart. I stamped the phrase "It's the little things" on a strip of "slate" (dark grey CTMH) cardstock and embossed with light blue embossing powder. Adhere both design paper and grey cardstock to the center.

Valentines Pillow Box

Since we made a cute Valentine's card with lots of hearts I thought it would be a nice treat to add a little pillow box too it.

Same color scheme as the card. I even found some leftover heart print paper from Close to My Heart....this is retired long time ago, but works great here. We folded the box and glue it together with some strong sticky tape. For boxes I would always recommend this adhesive, because you need something really strong to hold the box together.

A little bit of twine, and remember the Valentine phrase from the card? Here we stamped it separately.
To cover the ends of the twine we used 4 hearts of the same size. Adhere two together by sandwiching the twine in between them. One little sparkle and the box for something sweet for someone sweet is done.

Valentine's Card - Just for You

This card was inspired by my good friend Elke. I loved the design and thought it would make a great Valentine's layout too. So if you like to see the original hope over the blog "Frau Schnipselchen"...

This card was fun to make. We put ordinary sticky note hard to work. I cut a ca. 2" circle with a circle punch from a piece of "white daisy" cardstock. Align the sticky note the way you want to show the ray of hearts. We then stamped between the sticky notes with two heart stamps. Make sure to place some of the hearts of the paper. Don't worry to stamp on the sticky notes, since they will be removed once the stamped images are done. This creates this clean line you can see on the card.

A Birthday in the Woods

Finally things are back on track. We had a wonderful vacation in Germany and it was so nice to see family and friends again over the Holidays. Way too short, but that's what vacations always are or?

Today I have a very special birthday card with greetings from the woods. I got this stamp set from LawnFawn because it was so stinking cute and with the matching dies, I had to try it.

All critters are colored in with alcohol markers and cut out with the according dies. Make sure you stamp you images with a none alcoholic in (like Memento black) otherwise the alcohol markers will dissolve the outlines of your images. Once stamped, color everything in first, then die-cut the items.

Oh and don't forget the inside of the card. I guess Miss Susan Willams has me inspired with her doodling on photo mats and cards. I have to admit, I love the little extra on the inside...do you?

Check back here for the new projects we did this month during my card workshop....

See you back here tomorrow!

Winter Fun - Snowhaven Paper Pack II

Here is my second page of the "Snowhaven" page layout.

This page has a few cute little extras to store more pictures on your page.

I used more paper of the "Snowhaven" paper pack (X7188B) for this page.
And again, remember while you might not have the cute little stamp set I used here "Frosty Fun" (D1611) you should get the  "Snowhaven Complements" (X7188C) and little "White Enamel Stars" (Z2010) instead.

They are perfect for this layout.

For extra photo storage I added a "Memory Protector Flip Flap 3x4" (Z3027) to this layout. (Included in the kit you can buy from me!)

You simply attach the Flip Flap to your page protector, right over one of the four pictures on the layout. The adhesive is nice and strong and will hold onto the page with no problem.
Now you can add 2 more pictures...

I hope you like the layout. Let me know if you have questions or like to order the products used with this layout. I also have a kit available for this paper packet. With this kit you will be able to create both pages as shown here and in the previous post. The kit comes with all papers (pre-cut for you), all embellishments, flip flap and stamped images. Interested in ordering the set? well...let me know.

Stay tuned for more layouts to come.....and other cute items :-)
