Our Heartfelt Wishes

This is another sample of a wonderful card that can be used for many occasions. Here I used it as another sympathy card. The card base is made from colonial white card stock. I traced the bracket edge from another card and cut it out. Then I adhered the design paper on the bottom of the front and trimmed the excess from the bracket away. Next, I adhered the blue card stock to the top of the front. A piece of black card stock was given a scalloped edge and lined up with the blue card stock piece.

I stamped my phrase in cocoa ink on a piece of colonial white card stock. This was matted to a piece of black card stock. The ribbon was adhered to the front of the piece and wrapped around at the sides. A white paper flower was inked up with twilight ink and decorated with a blue button. A big glue dot is holding the flower on the card phrase piece.
The whole set is attached with foam dots to the front.

To make the card a bit more special, I run the blue card stock piece through my Cuttlebug. A wonderful embossed design rounds up this simple but stunning card.

Have fun creating and if you are interested in joining my monthly card class, please contact me for more information.

Our Deepest Sympathy

Once in a while there is a sad reason to sent out a card, but we still like to sent something special. Sometimes a card can say more than words can due. The time and thought one put into a handmade card tells the other person how much we care for them, especially during these difficult times.

I started with a brown card stock base (Kraft paper color). I then used a piece of black card stock that I run through my Cuttlebug for embossing. I adhered it on the front of the card.

I used the "Jardin" stamp set from Close To M Heart to stamp the flowers and writing on to a piece of colonial white card stock. (Ink was bamboo). I stamped "Deepest Sympathy) in cocoa ink on top.

The colonial white piece was attached with foam dots to the black part of the card.

The flower was created from a peach colored flower, followed by a white flower, a bow made out of hemp and a white brad. A big glue dot will hold the flower in place.

To center the hemp bow, bend the brad wings apart. Slight the bow all the way up to the top of the brad, then bend the wings back together and insert the brad through the flowers. Bend the wings apart again to keep everything in place.

Stay tuned for one last card of this months club...

A Birthday Car

This is the second card we will assemble in this months card class. Here is another example for a birthday card for the men in your life. I think this is a card that could fit your husband, boyfriend, father, nephew, son....

I used a dark red card stock as the base for this card. I then adhered a strip of  twilight card stock, followed buy a piece of design paper and finished with a strip of black card stock.

I stamped the car image only partially on a white piece of card stock that is matted on a piece of grey one. I folded a piece of ribbon in half, trimmed the edges and adhered it with a little bit of scotch tape to the back of the car piece. The tape is the perfect way to secure the ribbon and to easily set the staple without having to fight with it :-)
The car piece with ribbon attached is then adhere to the card with some foam dots.

A Happy Birthday phrase is stamped in black ink on a piece of white card stock. I attached both brads to it before I adhered the tab with foam dots to the card.

Well this is card number two from this months card class...stay tuned for more...
