Christmas Coffee Pot

My favorite coffee store over in Door County has a blend for Christmas that is my pick for the season. It is called "Jingle Bell Java" and is delicious.

They not only offer this coffee in big bags but also in small one pot coffee packs. Just the right amount to brew a 12 cup pot of coffee. It is a wonderful little gift and to make it really special I decided to dress it up a bit.

A red burlap bag (containing the coffee package), a little green, a pine cone and a wooden star make the perfect packaging. A little tag for a personal note and you have yourself a merry little Christmas gift...

If you are interested in any items you see on this blog, please don't hesitate to contact me. I would love to create a special gift to give for you...

Thanksgiving Silverware Pocket Holders

How about dressing up your Thanksgiving table with some cute little pockets that will hold your napkin and your silverware?

The cutlery set seen on top was my demo piece. The little tag can be used to place your guest name on it.

One of my customers ordered a big set for their Thanksgiving party and I changed the design just a bit.

Instead of the two green leafs I placed a green and brown leaf for decoration in the corner. I also added a little pumpkin to the front, just to make it more festive.

Now all my customer has to do is put the napkins and silverware inside and write the guests name on the tag....

If you would like to order some of these, please contact me! I will have post some Christmas versions here shortly...

A Box for every occasion

Here are some other samples from my Craft Show attendance ...

I love these little boxes. They are just the right size for one cup of coffee for your Keurig coffee maker. I placed a pumpkin spiced coffee cup from my favorite coffee place, Door County Coffee, inside.

This little cute cup with saucer and spoon is from a "LawnFawn" stamp and die set.

Since we are so close to Thanksgiving I thought I need some more autumn decor on the box. A wrapped some ribbon (sorry I can't remember the word for this material) around it and attached two tags.
One with a Thanksgiving greeting and the other with the "Love you a Late" phrase and room to write a personal note in it...

A little stocking stuffer or how about a little teachers gift? No matter how you gonna use them, they are cute little gifts.

I placed a mini BareMinerals lip gloss in them, just the perfect size for your purse.

This box is with a Christmas theme, while the flower on can be used for all sorts of occasions.

For the Christmas version I had my customers pick the color they wanted and I wrap everything up in the box.

The flower version seen here has a little window so you can see the lip gloss color without opening the box.

Want some of these for Christmas? Let me know! All items from the craft show can be ordered just as you like them...

A wonderful Merry Christmas

This is the second card for Christmas made in our card class in November. I found the design (seen from Dawn Griffith) so cute that I had to use the base and give it my own spin.

The card base is a piece of red cardstock with a little flap seen on the left. The green design paper is adhered to the center of the red base and to the outside of the flap.

A piece of black cardstock folded in half is glued into the center of the green base paper. The fold of the black piece is to your right so the card opens on the left. The small flap from the red cardstock will hold the black card closed.
Make sure to adhere a piece of colonial white cardstock in the center so you can write your greeting inside.

I used another colonial white cardstock piece (same size as the one inside the black card) to stamp and decorate the outside of my card.
Close To My Heart has a great stamp set available for all hostesses that is called "Sing Glory" (C1587). I used the Holly garland and leave motive, as well as the phrase from it. If you are interested in this stamp set, please contact me on how to get it.

First I stamped the garland and leaves in olive ink. To make the berries pop, I used the liquid adhesive pen and marked each berry with some liquid glue. A little bit of red embossing powder, a heat gun and my Holly berries are done.
The three ornament are from an older stamp set. I stamped them first in grey onto the card and then a second set on a separate piece of cardstock. These I colored in with alcohol markers and cut them out.
A foam dot and a little bit of glitter and they were place right on top of the grey stamped images.

All cards and layouts presented on my blog can be purchased as kits (while supply last) or as finished products. Please contact me if you like to purchase any item.

How about making this card in one of my card classes? I offer small classes at my home or if you have a couple of friends that like to come together and make some of these cards, I will come to you place as well. Contact me which days are still available and what other projects I am currently offering.

Lollipop Owls and Thanksgiving Turkey Owl Treats

A big "Thank You" to all that organized the Craft Show at St. Marys Our Lady of the Snows in Milford on Nov. 15th. You did an awesome job.

A big "Thank You" goes also to all my wonderful customers that visited me on this day and left so many nice compliments. Thank you for your support and your purchases.

These are my little lollipop owls for Thanksgiving. I love the way they turned out...and so did many of you. I know there were quite a few that never had the chance to purchase them because they sold out so fast. I you still like to purchase some, email me and let me know what you need.

These Thanksgiving Turkey-owl treats were a big success too. I hope all of you and your families will enjoy them.

A folded Christmas tree

This is the first of our November card class projects. Simple but elegant and a great design if you need to make many cards for the season.

I used a Close To My Heart paper packet from last year, but any other festive paper will work as well. For this Christmas tree you will need a double sided paper otherwise the tree will show some of the white backing.
The tree is folded from a half circle. In this case I used a 4" circle cut in half. The stem is made from the Close To My Heart golden glitter trim. I love this trim. I comes in many more colors and is already backed with adhesive.

I adhered a piece of design paper to the card base. My tree was glue on a piece of black cardstock which enhances the colors and makes the gold trim really pop. I used tiny thin foam squares to hold the folded corners of the tree down. The thin foam piece give a little dimension without making your cards to bulky. A few gold embellishments are draped around the tree and I stamped "Merry & Bright" on the bottom with our chalk inks. The ink color I picked was a little dark, but you can still see it on the card.

The black cardstock is raised with foam dots of the card base.

With my Christmas cards I like to stamp a little phrase inside to make them even more special.

All cards and layouts presented on my blog can be purchased as kits (while supply last) or as finished products. Please contact me if you like to purchase any item.

I am thankful for

This is the last sample of our October Thanksgiving Card Class. A little bit of everything. We used again the Close To My Heart "Pathfinding" (X7186B) paper pack.

The card base it made from Autumn Terracotta cardstock. The waved border was die-cut with a LawnFawn die (including the stitching). We further used chocolate and olive cardstock on the front.

We used three pumpkin cut-outs off three different design papers. The cut-outs are folded in half and adhered together. The two single half's on each side are attached to the card to create a 3D-effect. To sent this card in the mail, simple push the pumpkins flat. Metal studs, the final touch to this card.

Happy Thanksgiving II

This is the second Thanksgiving card we made in October's card class. The background is made from Close To My Heart Chocolate cardstock and Cocoa Ink. I used a StampinUp woodgrain background stamp to replicate the wood boards. Looks like real, doesn't it?

The sign is stamped in Close To My Heart Barn Red Ink and attached to a piece of olive cardstock. The phrase and the pumpkins are again from the new "Thankful Heart" (B1463) stamp set. The pumpkins are stamped on Autumn Terracotta cardstock and cut out by hand.

The sign is attached with a brand to the chocolate front piece before it was adhered to the card base. This way the back of the brad is not seen on the inside of the card.

Autumn Memories - Pathfinding Paper Pack II

Welcome to part II of the layout...
The branches are again hand drawn on a 3" x 12" piece of chocolate cardstock. I treated them the same way as I did the tree trunk. Both branches fit next to each other on the cardstock strip. I stamped with the wood-grain stamp, cut the branches out and sponged around the edges. One branch is for page one of the layout and will line up with the little stump on the top of the tree.

To adhere the other branch, place your base for page two next to page one and line both branches up.

I cut three autumn terracotta colored photo mats and two barn red mats. You can arrange them any way you want. All five are cut 3" x 4". The three top once (like the mat on page I) have a piece of hemp attached and are place under the branch so it looks like they are hanging from it. Leaves and cork bottoms hold the strings in place.

I adhered the other two mats flat on the bottom. Make sure all your leaves, pumpkins and acorns are edged before you place them on the page. Spread them along the bottom and raise some with foam dots to give more dimension to the page. The pumpkin and acorns are stamped and cut out.

If you cover your photo mats with some leaves or part of the pumpkin, make sure that the overlapping part is not adhered to the photo mat, only to the page. This way you can slide your photo behind it with no problem.

For extra photo display or journaling I added one "Memory Protector Flip Flap" 3" x 4" (Z3027) to the layout. You can use more if you like. Once your page is ready and placed in your page protector, simply remove the strip adhesive cover from the flip flap and adhere it right over one of the photo mats. Fill it with extra photos, memorabilia or journaling.

You can create this layout in one of my classes, or you can order the kit including everything you see on the layout. (Papers pre-cut, stamping done and complete colored instructions with pictures included). You can also purchase the layout assembled and ready to go....

Autumn Memories - Pathfinding Paper Pack I

I will present you at least one double page layout every month and this month I will start with our wonderful Close To My Heart "Pathfinding" (X7186B) paper packet.

I love the gorgeous fall colors and I thought this is the perfect paper to create a fun Autumn page.

The base for the layout is one of the three design papers that are in the package. Little tiny leave falling, just the right background. I created the tree trunk from a piece of 3" x 12" Chocolate cardstock. I hand drew the trunk onto the back of the paper so I didn't had to worry about the pencil line once I cut it out. I left a little stump on the top that would line up with the branch.

I stamped a wood-grain image with chocolate ink onto the trunk and edged the sides with the same ink. Edging the sides with a sponge make for a nice soft edge and gives the trunk some great dimension.

The photo mat is a 7"x 5" barn red piece of cardstock. I poked a small hole in the top corners, strung a piece of hemp through and placed it with foam dots onto the page, just so far off the tree that the hemp will reach the branch.

Four leaves and a cork button will hold the hemp in place and the photo mat looks like it is hanging of the branch.

The title as well as the leaves were cut with the Cricut and our Close To My Heart Cartridges "Art Philosophy" and " Artbooking". I used two different design papers from the "Pathfinding" paper pack to cut all leaves. The title is made from Autumn Terracotta cardstock. The pumpkin and the acorns you see are stamped and then hand cut.

Scatter all your leaves on the bottom of the page, pointing in different directions. I elevated some with foam dots.

Stay tuned for part two of this layout and a special extra photo adding to your page....coming tomorrow...

You can create this layout in one of my classes, or you can order the kit including everything you see on the layout. (Papers pre-cut, stamping done and complete colored instructions with pictures included). You can also purchase the layout assembled and ready to go....

Pumpkin Decor

My friend Elke (from Germany) was visiting us in September and as you can see, we did a lot of crafting. One day she decided to show me some Pumpkin Decor she made for a craft show at home and I thought they were so cute, I had to do more. Sorry I don't know who came up with this idea in the first place, but I have seen it now in many different version.

We created them in two different sizes and it is really easy to do. Once you started with one size, just variety the with of the paper strips you use. The bigger your pumpkin gets, the more layers you have to make or if you want them even smaller, use less layers.

Many off you asked me to put some instructions for the pumpkin up on the blog and I have to admit, I never tried to place a PDF on my blog ....well this it the first, so please let me know if you can't get the PDF instructions

Here are the instructions for creating the paper pumpkin...Paper Pumpkin PDF

I would love to see your creations, so let me know how it worked for you. I will try to get some variation of this pumpkin done ....like a Christmas tree or a Christmas ornament....so let see what you are creating...

Happy Thanksgiving

Yes, it is already time to get the turkey ready. I know, it seems like we just dusted our summer chairs in the garden and now we are turning up the heat in the house. So let's take the opportunity to bring some glitter home.

Have you tried the Close To My Heart Glitter papers yet? No? You don't know what you are missing. They are so glittery and nothing comes off. It cuts like butter and you get three hues of one color in each pack. The brown glitter paper is the one I used in this layout.

The leaves are from the new "Thankful Heart" (B1463) stamp set

and the paper is the wonderful Close To My Heart "Pathfinding" (X7186B) paper.

All cards and layouts seen on this blog are available for purchase. Simply sent me an email for more information and to order.

Have a Boo-tiful Day

A few days late, but still cute. Our October Card Class was all about Thanksgiving, but naturally we couldn't miss Halloween.
So this was our Boo-tiful Day...

The star background is stamped in Versa Mark ink and then covered in extra fine glitter. Love the sparkle and you should see our basement, my craft space...

The black cardstock is cut with a cute Christmas Tree die by LawnFawn. A piece of grey cardstock finishes the bottom of the card.

No monster bash without the little critters, right? The little monsters are colored in with alcohol markers and hand cut (This stamp set is also from LawnFawn).

I think I will use these little critters for a birthday card some time soon.....Boo-tiful
