Squares again

Here is one more sample on how to use your leftover pieces. Thanks to Michelle for inspiring me ...

You can create this flower with any size squares; just make sure all four are the same size. I used a corner rounder to round two opposite corners of each square. I assembled them onto a piece of black cardstock. The middle part is covered by a medallion for olive cardstock. My black square was matted with a 1/4" bigger olive cardstock piece and then attached to my cocoa card base (5 1/2"x4 1/4"). Place your phrase, saying or title on the bottom and a piece of white paper inside. Done!

Leftover pieces

Always wonder what to do with all these leftover pieces for other projects? The papers are too nice to throw away, so what can you do? Well, I always use my leftovers for some cards that I keep on hand. Here is a little sample...

My card base is 5 /2" by 4 1/4" cocoa cardstock with a fold on top. Leftover squares that I had from another project are used here. One 2 1/2"x2 1/2" design paper piece, two 2"x2" design papers and two 1 1/2"x1 1/2" design paper and two 1"x1" cardstock.
I stared with a 1"x 5 1/2" strip of colonial white cardstock centered in the middle of the card. I arranged my paper squared around it and placed a Cricut cut out in the center of my biggest square. I stamped my flowers onto it and finished the card with a bow.
Insert a piece of white paper inside the card and you are done. Have fun using your leftovers.

"Life is Tweet"

A little birdie told me.... Don't you love this stamp set? The card base for this project is 5 1/2" by 4 1/4" in colonial white. I covered the front with a piece of the FLORENTINE paper.

The mats for the center are cut each a 1/4" less than the previous one (cocoa, autum terracotta and colonial white). I stamped the flower branch and bird in cocoa ink first. I then stamped the bird again in cocoa on a piece of FLORENTINE design paper and cut just the body of the bird out. I glued it ontop of the one stamped previously (Thanks Michelle for the tip) and embellished the flowers on the branch with some sparkles.

The flower was cut out with the Cricut, then stamped on and inked in creme brulee around the edge. Some foam tape under the flower and your card is ready.

A Nonstop Flower Pot

I know, Mothers Day is long time ago, but I thought I still share this little card with you. You might have someone that is in need of a little bit of sunshine and what better way than flowers…
The base is created from Sweet leaf cardstock. I created the scallop edge with my corner rounder. Front and back of the card are hold together by a ribbon that runs around the card. Make sure the ribbon is tied closely to the card.
Leftover design paper was used to cover the bottom part of the pot. I stamped my flowers in different colors and cut each flower out with my scissors. Leafs are created from dark green cardstock.

The inside piece of the card is cut to fit exactly the width of the bottom of the pot. The length is a bit longer than the whole pot, so you are able to glue the flowers and leaves onto the top of the insert. Stamp your saying and place the card inside the pot…. If you like instructions for this card…please contact me!
