It has been awhile since I create a new layout, but here we are …. I was looking at my new Stampin’Up design papers on my desk and the Bloom Boutique was calling my name LOL. I found some pictures that were just perfect for this project and a sketch to make my live easier. A new stamp & die set and a beautiful 3D embossing folder were also on my list to use. Here are 3 easy to make cards using up all these scraps we have left after creating pages and other crafts. One card in particular uses up a lot of them. This card has a little twist and I hope you will enjoy it. Watch the process and see how easy it is to make a few cards.

Hope you all had a nice Halloween yesterday. So I have one more Halloween layout from the workshop kit for you. This time I scrap-lifted my friend Erin’s layout 😊 I have created 3 different layouts with this workshop kit and I still have enough papers left to make at least 1 or 2 more, but they have to wait. Next the Autumn workshop. I have to say this set here was a lot of fun to work with.

Aren’t these owls adorable? This is our Stamp Of The Month for October from Close To My Heart. It is only available Oct 1 - Oct 31, 2023 and for the first time it also comes with its own thin cuts. Yes, Close To My Heart listens to our suggestions …LOL.
With this card I used some older embossed card stock I found in my stash, some woodgrain paper from CTMH and our Mocha Ink to give it a quick coloring job.

These are the bigger ones which are awesome for using with our stencils. The little ones I used are from Amazon, but hopefully they might pick them up too.
In this video I will show you a quick and easy way to enhance your die cuts just a little bit. One way to enhance them is to use colored cardstock which is an instant coloring. In my case here I used our light grey “Pebble” cardstock. It is retired but there is still some cardstock left to be ordered. We also have a cardstock called “Linen” that would work well with this card.

Thanksgiving is around the corner and what better way to use this cute stamp set from Close To My Heart called “Ready to Gobble”. I am also using our new coloring pencils to give the stamped images some character.
The coloring pencils are a must have. Not only are they pretty inexpensive but they are also super creamy. Due to a wax type lead they blend perfectly and are so smooth when you color.

Here is my Bonus Video from the Close to My Heart “Cape Cod” Scrapbooking Workshop. With all my leftover pieces and by just adding 2 sheets of cardstock I was able to create one more layout. This bonus layout uses up some of the leftover stickers and more of the extra embellishments we created last week with the Cape Cod Scrapbooking Stamp & Thincut set.

Die-Cutting or Stamping? Which one comes first if you have a Stamp & Die-Cut set you want to use? How often did you ask yourself this questions. While I was working on my Christmas Cards for my classes this year I thought of this question I get asked a lot. Well this is a little run down of everything involved.
I will show you in a few steps how your die-cutting machine works and a few little tips on how to adjust if things don’t come out as planed. I will also show you two ways to do it including a quick and easy way to die-cut and stamp a whole lot of images at ones.

I made this Gourd card last year using the same stamp & die set, which is not longer available. But I am sure you all have somewhere in your stash other pumpkins you can use to create this card.
Now you can stamp the pumpkin on colored cardstock to make it easy. Maybe use a bit ink or coloring pencils and enhance the diecuts just a bit….
Or…. You use white cardstock and stamp and die them to color them in with your favorite medium. Maybe it’s watercolor pencils or paints, coloring pencils, inks, or any type of marker…
But did you ever turned one of your pumpkin images into to a gourd? I used one of our Tru-Blend Markers in grey/blue and turned mine into gourd. This was so much fun and I think they turned out great. What do you think? Have you ever done this before too?
If not, you need to try it because there is no better way to add some extra sparkle and shine to your projects. Close to My Heart offers them in a variety of colors, but it you are new to them, start with the Clear Shimmer Brush (Z3293)
and if you recently bought one or have one sitting on your desk and you can't seem to get it to work, well let me show you in this quick little video how you get the shimmer going.
I hope this little instruction and the few tips on how to not get covered in shimmer glitter yourself ;-) will help. These brushes are really a great and inexpensive tool to have. Here we are one more time the "Spruced Up" paper collection. You still have 2 days left to order this super cute paper and the matching embellishments. All these items will retire on February 28th at midnight.
I used one more time the "Spruced Up Cardmaking Stamp Set" C1816 or if you like it including the dies Z3633.
The branches were stamped in Fern ink and fuzzy cut or if you have the matching dies you can use your die-cutting machine. The bird was stamped in Charcoal ink and then colored in with some watercolor pencils. I used a green-blue and grey to color in some of the wing and belly of the bird. I also used the clear shimmer brush to add some sparkle to the pine needles of the branch.
The card front is covered in a piece of sangria colored cardstock. The chickadee design paper covers the top while the wood grain paper covers the bottom. I added a strip of silver glitter paper to cover the seam of the two papers. You add a few phrases to the front and inside and another birthday card is done.
Today we are using the beautiful stamp set "Angel Hugs" Z3634 which includes matching dies. It is such a simple but beautiful set and if you don't like or need the dies, you can get the set just as a stamp set as well "Angel Hugs" C1820.
Here is a quick look at the set before we talk about the card I made:
When I saw this set in the Idea Book I knew I would use it for a sympathy card. Simple but meaningful. I went with a simple design paper in grey for my background. I was debating between a settle light pink or this sea grass color for the middle. While both would work great, I decided to go with the sea grass color. I used white cardstock and stamped the angel with Charcoal ink. Charcoal is a really nice dark grey and not as harsh as a black ink would have been.
A little strip of silver ribbon on the bottom and a "praying for you" phrase is all this card needed.
Instead of coloring the angle completely I decided to give her just a hint of color. I used my watercolor pencils and added just a hint of light blue to her dress and a little bit of brown to her hair. I don't think it needed any more color than that.
For the inside phrase we used a sentiment that came with the set.
Beside for sympathy cards, these angels would also make great Christmas cards or Thank You card for an angel in your life.
Who does not love the funny ladies from Art Impressions? Here is a simple way to make someones birthday a fun one LOL
The design paper is the "Spruced Up" collection from Close to My Heart and you can find more papers and matching elements right HERE. I used sangria and julep cardstock to match the stripes. The balloons are stamped in a light colored ink. Next we used the new Julep Shimmer Brush and added some extra sparkle to them. You could color the funny lady in with markers or pencils but I thought it works great just stamped in black too. A few extra doodles and some sequins and this card is pretty much done.....what??? no wait, we haven't decorated the inside yet.
The Art Impressions stamp set comes with so many funny phrases that it is hard to pick the right one. But I think this one will bring a smile on anyone's face. What do you think?
You know I love our current paper pack "Spruced Up" so I couldn't resist to use it in this months class. Beside the papers we also used the matching stamp set "Spruced Up -Cardmaking" C1816 with pretty little birds and branches.
This set is really versatile since you can use it for Christmas, Winter or Spring themes and it works well for masculine cards too. Here we used two strips of the design paper from the pack and three strips of cardstock (colors sangria, espresso and vanilla). The bird was stamped in espresso on vanilla cardstock and matted on a piece of new England ivy cardstock.
The bird was colored in with some watercolor pencils and for a little sparkle we added a little clear shimmer to its belly. The branch was stamped and fuzzy cut or if you get the set with the matching thin dies you can cut it out with your die-cutting machine.
For the inside we used a sentiment that I had in my stock for years. I thought it was perfect for this card.
