Card Bundle No. 2 - Part 1

Here we are, still working from home. To make my ladies life a bit more exciting I created another card bundle for them to make at home. Here is part one with the first 4 cards:

The first two are birthday cards. I used our Close to My Heart stamps "A Million Little Things (D1925)" for the first card and the super cute "Let the Good Times Roll (Z3705) with dies" for the VW bus card. You can get this set also without the matching dies (D1915).

The VW-Bus is just so cute and think off placing pictures of your friends or family in the windows.

Here are another two cards from our new bundle of card to make at home. The little boots are another great stamp to have. You can either stamp the outline and use one of the filler stamps for the inside or you do like I did. Stamp the boots on a piece of design paper and cut them out. If you don't have a matching die to cute the rectangle with the stiches, simply use a thin pen and add them to the white cardstock. The boot stamp set is still available "Make a Splash (C1839)".

The next card is a sympathy card and I used again the stamp set from the first card, just another flower that is in this set. For the background I used CTMH watercolors (Z3132) and a wide brush. With just a little water and 4 colors hues of blue I made the background and let it dry. Make sure to use a good adhesive to adhere the white paper to the black since it might have waved a little due to the water coloring.
Before you stamp the flower in black ink on the paper, make sure the water color is dry!!!

And here are the insides of each card. These phrases and sentiments are either from the stamp sets themselves. You can find many of them here.
  Stay tuned for part 2!

Close to My Heart - Retiring Colors on August 31st

Here is a little update on which colors will be retiring at the end of the month. You might be lucky to still find ink pads, refills and papers of the colors in the “online only” section of my website past Aug 31st, but only while supplies last. So if you have a favorite color you like to keep for longer, make sure to get them now. If you already own on of the stamp sets make sure to get the refill too. The ink pads including the refill will last for a long long time ;-)
Curtesy of one of my fellow consultants, here is a chart of all retiring colors for 2020:

Goldrush
Saffron
Pixie
Thistle
Eggplant
Sweet Leaf
Ruby
And the annual color Julep!

More Cards - More Designs

Well I found a few more cards in my stack that we did early in the year when we still had our monthly class. I only found 3 so I still have to go searching for No.4 of the set.

This is a cute little birthday card. Simple but elegant and the grey and pink always complement each other. We colored the cake in just a little and used a shimmer brush to give it some sparkle. The stamp is from a Stamp of the Month set which is really versatile.

Here is another one for all your leftover design paper pieces. Use a punch and create some circles. Make sure you have different sizes and drape them around your message. Cut one for decoration for the inside too. Simple right?

and last but not least, this one. It is an older stamp set but I love the Band-Aids. Stay tuned there is more coming....cards, pages and more ... see you back here soon

Three Cards - One Design (4)

And here we are with the last samples of our round of 12 cards to make. This is design No.4 and as you can see similar and still different again. Just using different papers and embellishments will change one design into two different cards. So don't be afraid to use one you love for multiple cards. Change the colors, papers and extras. Turn it 90 degrees and voila you end up with many different cards.
And like always don't neglect the insides of your cards. Stamp a nice phrase, add a little stamp and do a bit of doodling with a black or grey pen. You can also use colored pens what ever fits your style.
I hope these multiple card ideas get you going to try your own and if you have questions feel free to contact me.

Three Cards - One Design (3)

Sometime we have to remember there are horizontal and vertical cards out there LOL. So here are a few in a different direction. All based on the same basic design but still different in the way we decorated them. The basic design is just an idea for you to start with and then you make it fit to your needs.

Some old papers, some new papers, some of the stripes from the bottom up and other start on the top going down. Some images are stamped vertical so the rectangle goes accordingly and other are horizontal. No problem right? Just make it fit and always remember the inside of your card.

I also like to stamp a little on the envelope too. Stay away from sticking stickers other other papers to the envelope since it might get caught in the postal machines. Stamping is no problem as long as you can read the address ;-)

Three Cards - One Design (2)

Welcome to the next design I picked form the Close to My Heart How to Books. You can find these books HERE. These books are great if you are looking for some inspiration.

The first card is awesome since you can use all those stripes of papers you have been collection for the event you might need them again or just because they were so pretty. Those little squares make a great background don't you think?
Love the sunflower on the next card. This set is currently still available and is called "A Million Little Things (D1925)" and if you are in need of some really nice sentiments, make sure to check this set out "With Heartfelt Sympathy (D1919)"
There are so many beautiful set so have a look and I am sure you will find one or two in your stack you can use too. Yes, the last one is a water coloring done by me with the watercolor stamps from ArtImpressions. I just found this so perfect for the background I picked and the mat.
Don't forget the insides of your cards too. Doodling goes a long way ;-)
