Just a little prayer

Sometimes we have to say a few words of comfort and how better to do so than with a card. I adhered a piece of patterned paper to the card base, about 1/4" smaller. The white card stock in the middle of the card is matted with a piece of blue card stock. I first stamped the "Just a little prayer" phrase on to make  sure it will fit. Next I stamped the flowers in red, the inside of the flowers in grey and finally the green stamps and leaves. I added some stardust glitter glue to the flowers and let it dry.

I also stamped both flowers a second time on a piece of leftover white card stock. I cut the smaller flower out completely and used only part of the bigger one. Both pieces were added to the card with foam dots.

The inside of the card contains the second part of the phrase "that God will keep you in His care".

Close To My Heart has a wonderful stamp set with phrase like these. It is called "Card Chatter - Sympathy" D1476 and is a wonderful help in finding the right words. If you like to get this set, please contact me for more details or look it up here!

A Birdie Birthday

I love this little birdie... I used a colonial white card base and adhered a 4"x 5 1/4" piece of patterned paper to the front. I matted the center colonial white piece with two mats. Each is about 1/4" bigger than the first.

The branch and bird image is stamped first on the center piece. I then stamped just the bird body onto a piece of patterned paper and cut it out. I was adhered the stamped image.

The flower was cut out with the Cricut. The flower stamp that came with the bird set fits perfectly the cutout. A banner was created with some leftover paper.

Oh... and don't forget to decorate the inside of the card, so you will know what the little birdie is telling you ....

Sunflower Sympathies

A wonderful card to express your sympathy. I used craft paper card stock to create the base for this card.

A strip of burlap was placed in the middle to give the card more dimension. I stamped sunflower in StazOn ink so I could color it in with watercolor pens.
If you would use regular ink, the image would smear as soon as water would touch it.

I used bronze glitter glue to give the middle part of the flower some more depth. Add some leaves and the "Deepest Sympathy" phrase and don't forget to place a piece of white paper on the inside to make writing easier.

Happy Birthday Snowflake

Place a piece of patterned paper on the front of your card base. Adhere a piece of blue card stock to the base followed by a smaller white piece.

I stamped the phrases and some snowflakes on the white paper before adhering it to the blue.

The Cricut machine cut out the leaves and snowflakes. The stamp set "Snowflakes" fits perfectly onto the cutouts and glitter glue and rhinestones embellish the flakes.

The smaller snowflake was raised with foam dots to give the card more dimension.

Thinking of You

Simple but effective, a card to brighten up a day. I placed a piece of pattern paper, about a 1/8" smaller than the card base on the front.

I cut a piece of dessert sand card stock, inked it with chocolate ink at the edges and adhered to the card as well.

Two squares, one of cocoa card stock and one of colonial white card stock were cut and inked at the edges. I stamped the phrase "Thinking of You" in cocoa ink and placed the squares with foam dots on the front of the card.

The flower was cut with the Cricut in three different sizes. I used the gold metallic marker to add the design shown on the right to it. Three bubble rhinestones finish the project.

A Cardinal Birthday

The cardinal is such a wonderful bird to watch. Everyday I watch them on our bird feeder in the  back yard. Mr. and Mrs. cardinal come by every morning. His bright red colors shine even brighter against the snow.
So no wonder when I saw the "To you and yours" stamp set in the Close To My Heart Idea Book, I had to get it.

The image was stamped with black StazOn ink. I then colored the cardinal and the berries in different shades of red (watercolor pens). A watercolor brush melted the reds together.

The leaves were colored in different shades of watercolor green. I added a little red glitter glue to the berries.

The image was adhered to a piece of red card stock, just an 1/8 bigger than the image. I attached the red card stock with foam dots to the card base that was covered with a piece of patterned paper 4" x 5 1/4".

A little bow and a rhinestone on the i finishes this card.

A Wedding Card

Browsing through the new Idea Book I saw the perfect Wedding Card. Check out page 33 and you will find a similar looking card. I did order the stamp "The Happy Couple (D1539)" from Close To My Heart, but I couldn't wait until the stamp set arrived.

So what do you do if you don't have the stamp set on hand, well you get creative and look for similar stamps you have on hand. That's what I did.
First I found a small stamp with a bunch of flowers. I stamped the paper with a white pigment ink and set it aside to dry. Pigment inks need a lot longer to dry than other inks.

Next, I picked three stamps to create the three different layers of the torte.
I cut a scalloped piece of white card stock in strips to cover the top of each layer. I used a bow stamp instead of bells for the top. I cut the bow out and used a glitter pen to enhance the overall look. I placed the bow with foam dots on top of the last cake layer.

I used 1" circles to create the little red flowers and 1/2" circles for the smaller once.
I spiral of rhinestones was placed on top of all three cake layers. Then the little flowers were arranged and pearls were placed in the middle of the small flowers.
I adhered the gray card stock with the cake to the white one and the white was adhered to the pigment inked one.
The whole set was placed with foam dots on the card base.

Happy Birthday - Avonlea Paper

The other day I was looking for a nice Birthday Card to give to my hubby. Naturally flowers, butterflies and things like this are not typical items to go on a guy's card. Well, then I saw my Close To My Heart AVONLEA paper and bingo, these are just the right colors and designs, don't you think?

I created an embossed border from white card stock and cut around the edges. I shortened my card front and adhered the Avonlea paper, my white border and a black paper strip to the front.
The other design paper was adhered to the lower bottom of the inside of the card, so the white border will lay above the paper.

A Happy Birthday tag and mat and some ribbons
finish this card off.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Butterfly Birthday Wish

Well, I had some paper leftover from the Card Club and since we never throw leftovers away, I had to come up with something. These bright colors make a perfect Birthday greeting....

I adhered a piece of patterned paper to the top of my card. The blue border was embossed with the Cuttlebug and then hand cut around the design. I used a white card stock strip and my corner rounder to create the scalloped border.
The blue border is attached with foam dots, while the rest is glued directly to the card.
I punched a total of six butterflies three in each color. I adhered two together on the body and glued them with a glue dot to the card. Fluff up the wings and your Birthday Card is ready.

Easter Egg-citement

We had green, we had blue and now the finally February Club Card is rose/pink. The window opening was the perfect spot for another Easter Egg.
The egg will spin around when you open the card and give it a little tap on the side. I placed a white piece of paper on the inside for your greetings. It is hidden behind the left part of the card.

A piece of blue flower patterned paper with a hint of glitter finishes the front.

Well these are our February Card creations. If you would like to make some at home, contact me and I will sent you the bundle with instructions home. Even better, join the fun each month....Contact me

It's what's inside that counts!

Since Easter is this year so early, our Card Club has to start in February with the Easter cards. Even so spring is not here yet, the colors sure make you feel like spring. I used the Easter stamp set "Easter Wishes (B1422)" from Close To My Heart.

I used sponge daubers for each color. This way I was able to ink the egg stamp with three different colors.
The white card stock piece is attached with foam dots and little butterflies round up the card.

This is the second card for our card club in February.
