The next project in this months class is a Birthday card for him. You might ask, "Why is this so special?" Well, to be honest, creating "male" cards is not always that easy, especially if you don't have a recipient with a certain hobby or interest. Often papers are not paying enough tribute to the occasion either, so from a design perspective, a male birthday card is a special project.
We used the Close to My Heart stamp set "Seaside Greetings (D1609) which I think is perfect for this project. The stamp set includes a wonderful lighthouse, beach and fencing, clouds and this awesome sailing boat.
So ship ahoy and lets get sailing....
I cut three daisy white cardstock pieces each about 1/4" smaller on each side than the previous one. I used removable adhesive and stacked them all centered together. Now I was able to stamp the sailing boat, the clouds and the sentiment on all three layers at the same time.
Next you need three outdoor denim colored pieces of cardstock, each about 1/8" on each side bigger than the white once. Carefully take the white stamped pieces apart and adhere them on to their counterparts (centered).
Now place all matted white pieces back together, this time use regular adhesive.
Foam dots raise the assemble up from the grey cardstock background and the card base.
