Card Class October 2022 - Project 4

 

Here is our last card class project for October and again I use some of the sheet music paper to decorate the card front.

To make the card a bit more interesting I added a little faux closure to it. The poinsettia gets a little extra attention to make it look more 3-d. A little goes a long way, but this little detail brings it to life.

I used Close to My Heart cardstock in Cranberry and New England Ivy which are both retired but you can substitute them with Scarlett or Candied Apple and Pine. The design paper is from the “T’is the Season” collection and also a retired paper, but the new “Christmas Story” design paper will work too.

Christmas Card with a faux Poinsettia closure

 

Can you tell I love using sheet music pages for my Christmas cards? This one comes with a twist. I incorporated a faux closure with a poinsettia. Make sure to watch the video tomorrow to see how you bring your poinsettia to life with just a few little strokes and a stylus. Come back tomorrow and see the video.

Card Class October 2022 - Project 3

 

This third card is thanks to an idea of a fellow maker named Jeanie Burch. She came up with the idea to convert the cover artwork from our new Oct-Dec 2022 into a card layout. If you haven’t seen the new book yet, here is a link to the online version for you:

New Digital Art Collections from Close To My Heart for all your Die-Cutting Machines

 

 

Did you know that each of our paper collection comes with an exclusive Digital Art Collection? Yes, specifically made to compliment the paper collections, but since you can choose the size and papers you want to cut, it will work with all of your papers in your stash.

The new and improved Digital Art Collections are available as an SVG File. This means, any electronic die-cutting machine that can handle this file form and cut the images. You heard right, any machine that can use SVG Files, this means your Cricut, Silhouette,Brother etc.

There are so many new sets in the book and most of them have matching dies, but you can always get them without the dies too. - Nativity Scene: We haven't had one of these in a long time and this set is so detailed it is just wonderful.... NOTE: Peeps, sell out alert for this one!

- The train set: OMG is this cute or what? I love this train and since you can decorate your cart with the matching present stamp or anything else you have in your stash, this makes it a year round set....kids birthday, retirement you name it.

- Snowflakes: Yes, more snowflakes coming your way. There are actually 2 set in the book. One is a stamp & die combo which stamps beautiful flakes and the dies cut the outline around them (not detailed). The other set is a die set and it cuts 3 different snowflakes with a lot of details. Snowflakes are always popular but especially the detailed dies are on high demand.

“Cherish” Paper Collection from Close To My Heart

 

Welcome to "Cherish" .... by far my personal most favorite non christmasy paper collection in the new Close To My Heart Oct-Dec 2022 Idea Book.

I love the color combinations in it, featuring the new mist, periwinkle and seabrook colors as well as shortbread, toffee, peach and more. The perfect papers to cover winter or spring pictures, anniversaries, birthdays and so much more. Neutral designs as well as some gorgeous flower papers round up this beautiful paper pack.

Like the previous 2 paper collections, this one also has a card making and scrapbooking set of special stamps&dies. The card making set features a combo of stamp&die&stencil and it a beautiful set to have. Using the stencils whit the die cuts makes coloring the image in so easy. (the stencils are only available in the stamp,die & stencil combo). The scrapbooking set has different flowers and foliage in it which are a great addition to many projects and you can never have too many flower or foliage sets right?

NOTE: A heads up, this collection of papers, stamps and embellishments has been talked about in our private groups of makers for weeks and if this is an indicator, than this set is super exciting to many people and might have the potential to sell out early. “Christmas Story” Paper Collection from Close To My Heart

 

"Christmas Story" is the second paper collection in the new Close To My Heart Oct-Dec 2022 Idea Book. I am a sucker for traditional Christmas colors and while this one hits all the benchmarks, it's design still covers a lot more ground than just traditional. The matching card making stamp&die set creates these pretty wreaths that not only can decorate your Christmas cards but also would be great embellishments for a page. The scrapbooking stamp&die set on the other hand creates some pretty but big embellishments for your pages. Using these elements on a card can be a bit tricky, but they will work there too.

Let's talk about baking Christmas Cookies and all these fun filled pictures you have laying around. Yes, the ones with you kids, grandkids, friends etc....or how about finally getting all these family recipes written down? Did you ever put one of the special cookie recipes onto one of your pages or sent them out as a card to a friend? I love this playful paper and it has so much more potential than "just" the cookie part. The colors are playful and can be used for any occasion.

I know, is there really more to talk about in the new Close To My Heart Oct-Dec 2022 Idea book? Oh yeeeeessssss, I haven't even made a dent into the new product lines ;-) So let's look at some new stamps & dies combos. Most of our stamp set that have matching dies also come as just stamp sets for those of you who don't care about the dies or love to fuzzy cut. Make sure when you order to check so you have the correct number. Stamp&Die sets usually start with a "Z" while just stamp sets will start with a "A,B,C,D or E".
