How about 5 years in a boys life?

Naturally I couldn’t stop here. Our nephew Louis would protest big time. So I went thru 5 years of pictures and picket again one or two per year. Flowers can work with boy pages, but there I looked for something else. The greens in the paper as well as the two sides of the flower design papers work very well with a boy page as well. Instead of flowers I decided to go with kites. The kites are created with parts of the “Just for You” stamp set.
I love this idea of arranging multiple pictures of different years onto two pages. It shows the progress and change so nicely. Now all that’s left for me is to add some journaling…. And I guess in a few years I will have enough material to create a page for their sister Carlotta too…..

How to get 9 years onto two page

Confronted with the new Lucky challenge I first thought of our niece Alicia. These flower stamps should work great with her pictures. I went thru all the pictures I had taken over the years and realized, “They’ll never are going to fit onto two pages”. But then I thought, why not taking one or two pictures per year and make a collage of 9 years of growing up. The little booklet attached onto page two gave me even more room to put pictures and journaling in.

I stamped the little flower from the kit in blush, crème brulee and sweet leaf around the colonial white cardstock, alternating the colors. Next I used the outline stamp of this flower and stamp around in grey wool color. In both cases I used the second generation stamping technique to soften the colors. Now came the little tricky part…. Cutting around the flowers to create this great border… A little work… but worth it.

You have to love LUCY...

Here are a few more samples on what you can do with the LUCY papers. This card is a 3x8 size and uses the CTMH Cricut "ArtPhilosophy" cartridge as well.

I created both of these cards as 6x6 cards, but they work on a smaler size as well.....

Last a more modern and less flowery version....

Introducing LUCY

Close To My Heart started the new Spring/ Summer 2012 season with some really gorgeous papers. I had to come up with some creative ideas for my “Ink outside the Box” challenge and I have to thank Michelle for this great opportunity. I got to work with the workshop on the go kit LUCY and although it is more a girly paper, it can work for boys as well. Do to the fact that CTMH design papers are double sited you can create both ways. I will start today with some of the cards I created:

“A note for you” Card (51/2 x 41/4)

The background flower paper and the pink doodle paper are from the LUCY kit (G1034). The rose was stamped with StazOn and then colored in with watercolors. The beautiful rose stamp is form the new “Card Word Puzzle” (C1494) set and the phrase is from the “Just for You” (B1398) set.

Butterfly Card  (6x6)
All papers used for this card are also form the LUCY kit. The butterflies are included in the stamp set that comes with the kit. Included in the kit are also some wonderful rub-ons, one can be seen on the tag. I scored an outer line around the edges in the front. Lightly sanded it reveals the white core. Use the CTMH ruler for stitching and it looks like faux stitches. (Thanks Tresa Black for this Idea) I used some gray threat and stitched around to get this double color effect.
Happy Birthday Card (6x6)
Again, all papers and the flower stamp come with the LUCY kit……
